Animal Friends Quarterly Newsletters

Overview
“Animal Friends” is the East Bay SPCA’s quarterly publication that connects supporters with the organization’s most inspiring stories, upcoming events, and behind-the-scenes updates. The goal was to refresh the design and elevate the reader experience to better reflect the organization’s warmth, professionalism, and impact.

My Role
I served as lead designer and production manager for the publication, overseeing layout, photo selection, typography, and print/digital formatting.

Approach
I introduced a modernized, modular layout that made it easier to showcase a mix of content—feature stories, donor highlights, and adoption success tales—without feeling cluttered. By focusing on legibility and emotional storytelling through photography and clean design, the newsletter became a stronger extension of the brand’s voice.

Impact
The refreshed design increased readability and engagement. Supporters expressed greater connection to the organization’s mission, and the newsletter became a consistent touchpoint for donor stewardship and community involvement.
